The following text is from the original listed building designation:
EDENBRIDGE EDENBRIDGE 1. 5280 High Street (East Side) No 81 (The King and Queen Public House ) TQ 4446 12/414 II GV 2. C16 timber framed structure with later front. 2 storeys, 4 windows. High pitched tiled roof with ridge stack partly rebuilt. 1st floor tile hung at ends, pebble-dashed in centre revealing part of 2 old timber braces. Brick ground floor. Rendered plinth. C18 sash windows, with bars removed, in exposed moulded frames. On ground floor left modern door, top glazed, with side light. Another top glazed door, with flanking windows, in 2nd bay from right. Roof smoke blackened, although of side-purlin type. Nos 75 to 79 (odd) and No 81 ( The King and Queen Public House) form a group.
