The following text is from the original listed building designation:
EDENBRIDGE EDENBRIDGE 1. 5280 Lingfield Road (North Side) Skeynes Park TQ 44 NW 48/461 II 2. 1840. Small Gothic mansion possibly by Decimus Burton. Entrance front of 2 storeys, 3 windows, irregular. Tall central battlemented tower. Canted right angle with canted projecting ground floor entrance. Stucco with cornice and parapet, 1st floor string. Chimney breast, with arrow slit, on right. Diagonal buttresses to porch. Battlemented, canted bay window on ground floor left. Mullioned and transomed windows, some with 4-centred heads to lights. 4-centred arch to plank door with moulded fillets. On other fronts varied windows, mostly sashes with glazing bars, some with hood moulds. Tall chimneys with hexagonal shafts. Inside Gothic plasterwork. Formerly the home of the Cobbett family, descended from William Cobbett the parliamentarian.
