(TQ 60216454) Ash Manor (NAT) (1) Ash Ash Manor TQ 66 SW 7/7 1.8.52 II* GV 2. Built by the Fowler family in the early C17. Two parallel ranges. Three storeys red brick. Tiled roof. Stringcourse above each floor. Projection in the centre containing a porch on the ground floor with 2 storeys above it and surmounted by a gable, below which is a date ?1637. Small gables over the outer second floor windows. Three sash windows with glazing bars intact. Chimney breasts at the north and south ends of the east range. Some casement windows in the north wall. Interior contains C17 twisted balusters at top of stairs, fine late C18 painted pine panelling, several C17 panelled rooms and a Priest's hole. Garden wall to south-east of Ash Manor running down to road TQ 66 SW 7/8 II GV 2. Early C18. Red brick wall about 8 ft high, laid in English Bond. Brick coping with cogged cornice. (2) Ash Manor, of red brick, bears the recut date of 1637. Full architectural description. (3)
