II
C15 or earlier timber-framed building, formerly an open hall-house. Two storeys. Ground floor red brick, above tile hung. Steeply pitched hipped tiled roof with gablet. Three casement windows. Flat wooden weather hood. The interior retains the upright posts with jowls, massive tie beams and 3 kingposts. The open hall was ceiled over in the C16 when the large chimneystack with inglenook fireplace was inserted. Part of the moat remains on the north-west and south-east sides.

(TQ 50586748)Moat Farm, Green Court Road, Crockenhill. 17c. or earlier, 2 storeys. Ground floor, red brick, above tile hung. Hipped tiled roof. (2) (O.S. 6" shows remains of a moat here) Moat Farm (nameplate) a private residence, as described above. In good condition. See GPs. AO/60/145/6 and AO/60/145/7 To the N.W. there is the remains of a homestead moat; presumably the site of an earlier house; comprising the N.W. and S.W. arms, both waterfilled, and indications of a third S.E. arm. (2) Published 25" survey of 1962 checked and correct: no change. (3) 5280 EYNSFORD GREEN COURT ROAD Crockenhill Moat Farmhouse TQ 56 NW 2/38 II 2.
