Summary

Grade I listed building. Main construction periods 1066 to 1599. Eynsford was one of the early minsters founded in Kent before 700. The present church is of the 12th-14th centuries and 16th century. Built of flint with stone dressings. Tiled roof. Nave with south chapel or transept and north aisle, apsidal- ended Chancel and west tower with inset broached shingled spire and Galilee Porch to the west of the tower. The reset west doorway is mid 12th century with zig zags of spirals around the arch and side columns, scallop capitals and a diapered tympanum. The south wall of the Chancel has two Norman windows. Two blocked north arches to the Chancel with 13th century mouldings. The tower arch is 13th century, altered in the 15th century. 14th century chancel arch. 16th century north aisle with cross gables. The chancel has a roof with embattled beams. Trefoiled double piscina to apse.
