The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HARTLEY ASH ROAD 1. 5280 Hartley House TQ 66 NW 4/153 II
2. An early C19 house originally called Hartley Cottage. L-shaped. Two storeys stuccoed. Slate roof and modillion eaves cornice. Four sashes with glazing bars intact and shutters. Tuscan portico to centre front. The right elevation has a doorcase with flat hood and brackets and the left side elevation has a Tuscan portico.
