The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HARTLEY CHURCH ROAD 1. 5280 Hartley Woodins TQ 66 NW 4/157 II 2. Formerly Shepherd's Cottage but called Woodins after an earlier occupant Henry Woodins. C17 or earlier timber-framed building restored. Two storeys now pebbledashed. Ripped thatched roof with off-central stack. Modern penticed weatherboarded extensions on each side. Three windows. Modern sashes forming semi-dormers to first floor, casements to ground floor. Left side modern brick and tiled gable weather porch. Interior has exposed beams throughout.
