The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HARTLEY               HARTLEY HILL 1. 5280                                                        Hartley Hill Cottage TQ 66 NW 4/167 II 2. C17 or earlier timber-framed building.  L-shaped.  Two storeys, the ground floor underbuilt in brick, the first floor weatherboarded.  Ripped thatched roof with one 'eyebrow' dormer.  Three casement windows.  Simple doorcase in angle of the L now enclosed by glazed porch.
