The following text is from the original listed building designation:
WEST KINGSDOWN TINKER POT L4NE 1. 5280 Woodlands Church of St Mary the Virgin TQ 56 SE 6/248 II GV
2. 1851-2 by Talbot Bury. This together with a school and vicarage was to be the nucleus of a new parish. Built of flint with stone dressings. Tiled roof, nave and chancel. West bellcote. South porch.
