The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5280 CHIDDINGSTONE CHIDDINGSTONE High Street (North side) The Old Rectory (Formerly listed as The Rectory) TQ 5045 7/194 10.9.54.

2. Early C18 incorporating older framed structure. Tile hung with hip tiled roof and centre gable end forming pediment. 2 storeys and centre attic window in pediment. Symmetrical elevation with glazed centre door with entasised pilasters on either side with moulded capitals supporting entablature and pediment forming hood. 3 sash windows in exposed frames on either side. Glazing bars to all windows. 1st floor. 7 sash windows. Centre tiled gable pediment with moulded eave boards and lead flashing brought across in line of eaves. Date stone 1734 marking alterations. At right old projecting brick stack with stone quoins, rebuilt shafts. Inside beams with moulded chamfers and a panelled small room with Tudor arched fireplace, possibly C17.
