1. 5280 COWDEN HORSESHOE GREEN Horseshoe Green Farmhouse TQ 44 SE 53/347

2. Late mediaeval hall house with alterations. 2 storeys, 4 windows in all. Tiled roof, hipped at left, with 2 ridge stacks. Cl9 tile hung 1st floor, red brick ground floor with diaper of blue headers. Modern casements. On 1st floor of left return exposed stout framing with plaster filling. C17 lean-to behind. Late C18 or early Cl9 right addition. Inside some very stout exposed timbers and one wall of plank and muntin panelling with Roman builders' numbers. House has been re-roofed but diagonal-braced crownpost stump remains, shorn off at top.
