The following text is from the original listed building designation:
EDENBRIDGE EDENBRIDGE 1, 5280 High Street (West Side) No 92 (Tanyard House) TQ 4446 12/444 10.9.54. II* GV 2. Restored C15 timber framed building of 2 storeys and attic, 4 windows. Gabled right bay has jettied lst floor on brackets with dragon beam at right angle. High pitched tiled roofs. Exposed stout timber framing with plaster filling. Modern lattice casements and plank door in keeping with old structure. Rear elevation shows exposed framing with plaster filling on 1st floor and modern brick on ground floor. C19 brick on left return. Inside exposed timber and restored crown post in attic. Messrs Whitmores have run the tannery on this site for 300 years. Nos 86 to 96 (even) form a group.

Messrs Whtmores have run the tannery on this sitefor 300 years. The Tanyard House and the house beyond are no later than the 15th century. The former has a gabled cross-wing. The uprights are still quite widely spaced. Behind Tanyard House a late 19th century tanning shed, open below on brick piers. The walls of the drying rooms above are weatherboarded, with movable louvres; a good piece of industrial design. (3) Tannery to rear of house marked on OS 1st Ed (1865) centred TQ 4434 4661. Two long buildings situated against the south side of the mill race. Poss site of earlier tannery. (4) Watching brief in 1996 to rear of House did not find any stuructures relating to the tannery, poss removed when contaminated land claered, but identifed tannery shed with open sides on brick piers standing behind house. Tannery owned by William Saunders in 1844 and site occupied by William Bonnick (5)
