The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HEVER HEVER 1. 5280 Uckfield Lane (West Side) Hever Grange TQ 44 SE 53/550 II 2. C16 house with large C19 south extensions. Old part of 2 storeys, 3 windows, irregular. High pitched tiled roof with compound ridge stack. Fairly stout close-set timbers on 1st floor, later brick ground floor. Gable inserted in centre. Modern casements. Original door under tiled bracketed hood. Close studding continues on 1st floor of right return. C19 rear span. Rest of house Victorian but built in similar style. Inside some exposed beams with ornamental chamfer stops. Some Jacobean panelling in drawing room, possibly imported.
