The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HEVER FOUR ELMS 1. 5280 The Four Elms Public House TQ 44 NE 49/554 II 2. C16 with extensions. Long range with half hipped end to road. High pitched tiled roof. Compound ridge stack of old brick. Irregular fenestration of C18, C19 and modern casements. Tile hung lst floor. Ground floor of random rubble with red brick dressings at ends and brick along sides, all painted white. 2-storey projecting North extension and long, l-storey south extension.
