PENSHURST FORDCOMBE ROAD 1. 5280 (East Side) (off) Ford Place TQ 54 SW 54/805
II
2. Early-mid C18 house of coursed freestone. Possibly older core. 2 storeys, attic and basement, 2 windows. At right extensions of 1869 with projecting chimney breast. At left older part under gable. High pitched slated roof with old ridge stack. 2 dormers, C19 casements. Other windows sashes with glazing bars, those on ground floor 3-light. Central door in moulded architrave under flat hood, with short side walls guarding drop into area.
Ford Place shall be amended to read Ford Place Farmhouse.

Description from record TQ 54 SW 70:
Early -Mid 18thC farmhouse with possible earlier interior. It was built of dressed stone with a slate roof and flat roofed dormers. It was extended at each end, probably by George Devey in 1869.(1)
