[TQ 87396099] On 25.3.1940 in the garden of No. 1 Chantry Cottages, Bredgar, [the former Chantry House - see TQ 86 SE 16] the tenant uncovered a pot containing 120 gold coins of Edward III and Richard II. The hoard was probably deposited in the latters reign after 1388. Seventeen representative coins are in the British Museum.
