Summary

Grade II listed building. Main construction periods 1400 to 1699 Probably the remains of a 15th century Wealden house, although it is not clear which end is the original house. Two-storeys and with an 18th century bay added which forms No.3. The first floor is tile hung and there is visible timber-framing to the ground floor. 18th century addition.

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5280 SUNDRIDGE SUNDRIDGE Church Road (East Side)
Nos 3 and 5 TQ 4855 32/1231 2.7.74.

2. Part of a C15 Wealden house. Tile north end missing and an C18 bay added which is No 3. 2 storeys. No 3 painted brick front, hipped tiled roof. No 5 2 windows. Steeply pitched tiled roof with hipped gable at right. Tile hung 1st floor. Visible timber framing with brick filling on ground floor. 1st floor overhanging on curved brackets. Parallel gable-ended ground floor projection with shop window. (Not now used as shop). C19 and modern casement windows. Right return shows timber framing with plaster filling and a long C17 extension of one storey and dormers. Inside much exposed timber and a Tudor stone fireplace on ground floor.
Nos 1 to 17 (odd) form a group with No 103 Main Road
