Oak Farmhouse (Formerly listed as Oak House, near Four Elms) TQ 44 NE 49/1506 10.9.54.

2. Restored hill house of C16 or earlier. Timber-framed building, with C18 alterations. Entrance front of 2 storeys, 3 windows. High pitched, tiled roof, half hipped at ends, with compound centre ridge stack, 1st floor tile hung. Ground floor, rebuilt in coursed galleted rubble with red brick dressings, bears date stone, 1744. C19 and modern casement windows. Plank door under bracketed hood. Tile hung end gables. At back parts of C17 lean-to remain alongside C18 timber framed, 1-storey extension and early C20 bathroom wing. Inside much exposed timber including one heavy moulded and embattled beam. Several Tudor brick fireplaces, some damaged. Oak newel staircase around stout post. Hiding-place, behind landing cupboard, with air-vent to attic. Panelling and enriched doors and doorcases and cupboards, all of C18.
