Full Description

Neolithic waste flakes were found in April 1962 by Mr Dives around tree roots at approximately TQ 8110 6454. The position indicated is in a wood on the false crest of a low chalk ridge; many fractured flints litter the ground, and there is a sub-circular heap of flints some 9.0 metres in diameter and 1.0 metres in height at TQ 8110 5454 but no artifacts or flakes were found. The flakes found by Mr Dives have been retained by him but were not available for inspection and their authenticity must remain in doubt. (1)
