2. (Now 2 cottages). C16 or earlier. Framed half timbered house in good state of preservation. 2 storeys and gable end windows. Ridge tile roof and centre stack. Diamond paned windows. First floor oversailing and supported on carved wooden brackets. Partly boarded and partly plaster infilling. Modern shingle gable ends. Brick and stone plinth. Dragon beams at all 4 corners. Inter west extension in keeping. Wall Cottage, Nos 1 to 3 (consec), the Archway, the Old Guildhouse and the Post Office and Retaining Wall form a group. Listing NGR: TQ5275143824 (1)

Description from record TQ 54 SW 23 :
The Old Guildhouse (now two cottages). Grade II* 16th century or earlier (for full description see list). Sited to TQ 5275 4382 from H.H.R. map). (2)Possibly once a public house (maybe The Porcupine) the hatch door at the front down to cellar would tend to confirm this. Now two cotages it is of C16 or earlier. Framed half timbered house in good state of preservation. 2 storeys and gable end windows. Ridge tile roof and centre stack. Diamond paned windows. First floor oversailing and supported on carved wooden brackets. Partly boarded and partly plaster infilling. Modren shingle gable ends. Brick and stone plinth. Dragon beams at all four corners. Later extension in keeping. (3)

Dendrochronology dating for the jetty gave a felling date of 1490. (4)
