The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5280 PENSHURST PENSHURST Leicester Square
Nos 1 to 3 (consec) (Formerly listed as Cottages forming north east corner of The Square) TQ 5243 23/819 10.9.54.

2. No 1 is a mid-C19 link between Wall Cottage and Nos 2 and 3, probably by George Devey. 2 storeys, 2 windows under gable. Brick and tile-hung front. Nos 2 and 3 are C16 restored, with plaster-filled vertical timbering. High pitched tiled roofs. No 3 has old chimney stack, projecting at West end. No 2 has red brick ground floor. Both have oversailing 1st floor behind. No 2 has restored door under bracketed hood and the framing above is a C19 restoration.
Wall Cottage, Nos 1 to 3 (consec), the Archway, the Old Guildhouse and the Post Office and Retaining Wall form a group.
