The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HEVER HEVER 1. 5280 Uckfield lane (East Side) Nos I and 2 (Brook Cottages) TQ 44 SE 53/545 II 2. C17 or earlier timber framed cottage, now as 2 dwellings. 2 storeys, 2 Windows in all. High pitched tiled roof with rebuilt ridge stack. Tile hung 1st floor Visible square framing with later brick filling on ground floor. CI9 and modern casements. Plain plank doors. 1-storey, 1-window extensions at ends. Similar rear elevation. Exposed stout timbers inside. Nos I and 2 (Brook Cottages) shall be amended to read Brook Cottage In the first line of notes "now as 2 dwellings" should be deleted.
