The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. KEMSING KEMSING 5280 High Street (North Side) The Keep TQ 5558 16/569 II GV 2. Probably small, 3-bay late mediaeval hall house, with later casing. High pitched hipped tiled roof with ridge gablets. 2 storeys and attic, 4 windows, irregular. 2 dormer windows resting on wall plate. Compound stack near right end of ridge. Tile hung 1st floor, brick ground floor. Modern leaded casements. Modern canted bay at left and enclosed brick porch at right. Inside much exposed timber and inglenook. Rose Cottage and The Well Cottage, Castle Bank and Fairway form a group.
