With the removal of internal wall and floor coverings, it was revealed that the frame of the building is a 16th century (?) timber-framed structure of non-domestic origins. This structure appears to have been converted into a dwelling in the 17th century with extensions to the east and west. The building was brick-clad in the 19th century. (2)
