The following text is from the original listed building designation:

1. 1449 HIGH STREET (south East Side)
No 1 (The Cinque Port Arms) TR 0624 1/35 28.8.5l.

2. C18 or earlier. 2 storeys painted brick. Tiled roof. Brick modillion eaves cornice, the bricks inserted diagonally with the points protruding. 3 sashes with glazing bars intact on the ground floor only. 2 modern small bay windows above. Doorcase with flat hood over supported on brackets. L-shaped wing behind to the South East of painted brick and weatherboarding. Brick and rubble plinth.
Nos 1 and 3 with West Lawn, Lydd Road, form a group.
