TQ 8587 7029 Three late C2 AD cremated groups were found in April 1962 by Mr J. Bass (a). The finds included a Samian dish and an olla, and a pottery flask in the shape of a wine barrel. A Samian cup and two coins of Maximianus were found nearby. All finds are retained by Mr Bass. (1) (a) (b) Site of excavation visible at base of sea eroded bank at TQ 8588 7030.(2) One of the cremations was enclosed in an oak cist, part of which survived (3).
