The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 1253 CHURCH HILL (South West Side) Nos 21 to 27 (odd) TR 1634 NW 2/47

2. 4 C18 cottages. 2 storeys. Ground floor sandstone rubble, above red brick, except for No 21 which is fronted with weatherboarding on the 1st floor. Tiled roofs and modillion eaves cornice, 1 sash each, except No 21 which has 2 windows. Glazing bars intact. No 21 has a doorcase in a frame with projecting cornice over, rectangular fanlight and 6-panelled moulded door. No 23 has a doorcase raised 6 steps above the street level with a flat hood over supported on brackets and 6-panel moulded door, the top 2 panels cut away and glazed. Nos 25 and 27 have simple wooden doorcases with flat weather hoods.
Nos 21 to 27 (odd) form a group.
