The following text is from the original listed building designation:

1. 1449 HIGH STREET (South East Side)

2. An L-shaped group of buildings, probably timber-framed, refronted in the early C19. The front facing the High Street is of 2 storeys stuccoed. Tiled roof. Eaves cornice and stringcourse. 2 sashes with glazing bars missing, Pediments over the ground floor windows. Modern doorcase, in splayed angle with pediment over. The North East side facing Victoria Street is of 2 storeys and attics. Its North West half is of painted brick. Eaves cornice, 2 hipped dormers and 5 windows. Ground floor windows are sashes with glazing bars intact. Above are 2 casement windows with small square leaded panes and 3 sash windows. Doorcase with pilasters, pediment and semi-circular fanlight, Contains a good staircase. Brick and rubble plinth. Adjoining to the left is an C18 extension of 2 storeys painted brick. Old tiled roof with off-centre brick stack. 3 sashes with most glazing bars intact. Simple right side cambered doorcase.
