Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5281 MARINE PARADE FOLKESTONE Nos 4 to 7 (consec) TR 2335 NW 2/10 II GV 2. Begun 1848. A small terrace of 4 houses which are the only ones in Folkestone at all of the Regency style. 4 storeys and basement stuccoed. 3 windows each. 4 engaged. Composite columns on the 1st floor of each house with entablature above. Dentilled cornice above 2nd floor. Another cornice above 3rd floor and parapet supporting urns at the corner of each house. Balcony on 1st floor supported on brackets with iron railing edging it and French windows surmounted by quarter spherical hoods. Round-headed sash windows on the ground and 2nd floors. Square- headed windows on 3rd floor with semi-circular tympana above now containing shell ornamentation to No 6 only. Glazing bars intact in the sash windows. Round-headed doorways with semi-circular fanlights.
Nos 4 to 15 (consec) form a group.
