9/67 Elham Saddlery and stables to rear

Shop, with stable range to rear. C19. Shop red brick in Flemish bond, left side rendered. Stables part buff brick, part flint and stone towards shop, chequered red and grey brick to central section, painted brick to rear (north) section. Plain tile roof. Shop, with short rear left return wing. Stables form rear wing to right, and enclose east side of stable yard of the Rose and Crown Inn. Single storey. Roof of shop hipped to left (hip returning), gabled to right. Two large six-pane shop windows to front elevation. Central half-glazed door with fielded panels to bottom and plain rectangular fanlight. Low tooled stone cill to each foot of door architrave. Plain frieze over whole shop front, with shaped brackets under flat eaves soffits. Stable range in three gabled sections of uneven height, with stable doors in rear section and broad full-height weatherboarded area with half-glazed door to central section. Interiors not inspected.
