Monument record TQ 87 SW 1 - Roman cremation burials, near East Hoo Creek, Stoke Mudflats
Summary
Roman cremation burials were found in c.1889 by workmen digging for mud about 150 metres from the shore of the Medway on Stoke Marshes. The find included two urns containing burnt bones, four Samian paterae, a patera of black ware and a two-handled vase. Thought to respresent two interments. The present whereabouts of these finds is uncertain.
