Summary

Grade II listed building. A 16th century timber framed barn, re-clad in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is an aisled barn of five bays. The south west front is clad in weatherboard, the others are of stone rubble with brick dressings an it has a tiled roof.

Barn. C16, re-clad in late C18 or early C19. Aisled timber-framed barn of 5 bays, the south west front clad in weatherboarding, the other fronts of stone rubble with red brick dressings. Half hipped plain tiled roof with central cart entrance with double doors and corrugated iron pentice to south west front. North east front has smaller opening not higher than aisle wall plate. Window opening inserted in south east end. Interior has gunstock jowled posts set in wood and brick padstones and has passing braces. Square section crown posts each with 2 curved foot braces to tie beam and 2 head braces supporting collar beam. Secondary ingled queen struts inserted. Probably late C18 or early C19 for structural stability. Through purlins.
