Full Description
[TQ 806 735] A bronze seal die was found in 1982 by D Kellett in a field south of the railway cutting. The die is circular, 1in in diameter and had a hexagonal handle of which only the base remains. Occupying the centre of the field is a legend in two lines of black letters. The surrounding legend appears to represent the Hundred of Wouldham. The seal can be closely dated to 1388 and differs from those listed in the BM catalogue since these all have the name of the Hundred in the centre of the field and the county in the surround. (1)
