TR 14 SE ELHAM CANTERBURY ROAD (west side) Ottinge
4/53 Barn about 16 metres south of Ottinge Court Farm

Barn. Early C16, with later alterations. Timber framed, weatherboarded, with corrugated iron roof. 4 timber-framed bays with front and rear aisles, built at right angles to road. Gable end to road (left) rebuilt in red brick with four short buttresses. Roof half-hipped to left, hipped to right. Central double doors with segmental head to left gable end. Interior: shaped jowls to principal posts. Chamfered arch braces to tie-beams and arcade plates. Two right trusses have cambered tie-beams and plain, chamfered, crown posts with eccentric braces. Clasped-purlin roof to rest. Curved passing shores. Ottinge Court Farm not listed.
