The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5281 THE LEAS FOLKESTONE Statue of William Harvey on plinth TR 2255 NW 5/199 II 2. William Harvey, the discoverer of the Circulation of the Blood was born in Folkestone. The bronze statue was made by A B Joy in 1881. It is a full length figure in Cl7 costume, set on a stone plinth. One hand symbolically touches his heart.
