The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5281 CHURCH STREET FOLKESTONE Sundial in Churchyard of the Parish Church of St Mary and St Eanswythe TR 2235 NE 1/5C II 2. Late Cl9, set on 2 stone steps. A circular pillar with trefoil carving having the inscription. "Remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set". Bronze dial.
