The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5281 HIGH STREET (North West side) SANDGATE No 44 TR 2035 SW 8/179 II GV 2. Cl8 refronted in early C19. 3 storeys stuccoed. Side and rear elevations are weatherboarded. Hipped old tiled roof. One 3-light bay through 2nd and lst floors without glazing bars. Late Cl9 shop front.
Nos 38 to 46 (even) form a group, Nos 38 and 40 being buildings of local interest.
