II
House, formerly rectory, now house. Early to mid C15 with mid C16 and later alterations, restored circa 1969. Timber framed, with brick and rendered infilling. Right hall bay clad with buff and purple brick in English bond. Brick gable ends. Plain tile roof. Wealden, with unequal length hall bays, and storeyed left end bay. Storeyed right end bay missing. 2 storeys. Stone plinth to left end bay. C20 studding to left end bay, with herringbone brick infilling. 2 tension braces to first floor of left hall bay. Left end bay jettied to front. Arch braces to flying wall-plate, that to right springing from brick. Solid bracket under central tie-beam. Steeply-pitched hipped roof. Gable end stack to right. Irregular fenestration of three 2-light casements. Durns to left end of hall, with half-glazed door behind them. C20 brick rear wing to right. Interior: exposed framing. Moulded octagonal crown-post on replaced tie-beam. Fragment of large ovolo-moulded arch-brace remains towards base of principal post. Two hollow-chamfered 4-centred, almost pointed-arched service doorways to left end of hall. Mid-to-late C16 inserted hall floor with moulded beams and Joists.

Description from record TR 14 SW 27:
TR 122403. Old Rectory, Monks Horton. House, of timber and two storeys of the Wealden Type built in the 15th century. One end bay was later removed, and a floor inserted in the open hall c.1600. Arch braces to a central truss, and a partition at the lower end of the hall with two doorways with two centred heads. The roof has a moulded crown post. Largely rebuilt in brick at various times.
