Summary
A beacon at "Knokhill' is shown on William Lambarde's 'Carde' of c.1570, showing 52 beacons in Kent. They dropped out of use after 1640. Knock Farm lies at the foot of a prominent ridge which extends south-eastwards onto the Rother Levels and which would be a good location for a beacon site, but no further information has been found.

Full Description
A beacon at "Knokhill' (see illustration card) SE of Tenterden, is shown on William Lambarde's 'Carde' of c1570, showing 52 beacons in Kent. They dropped out of use after 1640. (Nothing on Tithe Map). (1) Knock Farm lies at the foot of a prominent ridge which extends south- eastwards onto the Rother Levels and which would be a good beacon site, but no further information has been found. (2)
