Summary
34 Romano-British coins, ranging from 1st century quadrans of Antioch to 5th century Valentinian examples, were found between 1966 and 1969 at Knock Farm. Trial trenching by the Ashford Archaeological Society failed to find any related material. Trenches dug by the Ashford Archaeological Society were centred at TQ 9449 2653. There is some local suspicion that the coins were planted.

Full Description
[TQ 945265]. 34 Roman coins, ranging from 1st cent. quadrans of Antioch to 5th cent. Valentinian, were found between 1966 and 1969 at Knock Farm. Trial trenching by the Ashford Arch.Soc. failed to find any related material.(1) Trenches dug by Mr Bradshaw and the Ashford Arch. Soc were centred at TQ 9449 2653. There is some local suspicion that the coins were planted by the owner of the farm (a TV producer).(2)
