Findspot record TQ 93 SW 3 - Romano-British urn

Summary

A Roman urn and coin and a quantity of ashes were found in a raised bank during the draining of a field near Reading Hill. The exact location of this find is unknown although it has been suggested that the site lies between Finchden and Reading Street.

Full Description

"Tenterden - A Roman urn and coin and a quantity of ashes were found by S. Judge in a raised bank, in draining a field near Reading Hill." (1,2) Mace refers to Reading Mill in terms which make it clear that it was between Finchden and Reading Street. (3) Reading Hill cannot be exactly located. (4)
