A survey was carried out by Canterbury Archaeological Trust in 2008 prior to conversion for offices. The short north wing of the building is a 19th century addition. The original range was once entirely timber framed and of 16th century date. Much of the original timber framing has been removed and replaced by brick. It was originally jettied along both elevations but these were lost when the elevations were replaced with brickwork. The structure was actually once a two storey building with the interior subdivided into rooms. Two small unglazed windows survived in the west elevation on the upper floor. One retained its shutter. Similar windows were once to be found in the east elevation. It is not clear if the building was initially open to the farmyard or what the structure was used for. (2)
