[TQ 8713 5876] Swanton Court [NAT] (1) Swanton Court - the back range is 18th century or earlier and the front range dates from 1854. (2) Swanton Court is as described above. The 18th century red brick and tile hung range is in good condition, but of little or no architectural interest, and appears to have been very considerably restored. G.P. AO/62/228/5 from N. Hall house C16 with front range of 1854. Front elevation: red brick and slate roof. Two storeys on plinth with plat band, modillion eaves cornice, stacks to rear left and right. Regular fenestration of two 2 storey bay windows and central glazing bar sash with semi-circular headed gauged surround over large central corniced portico on 4 Doric columns with central door of 6 raised and fielded panels. Rear: hall house, timber framed of 4 bays, clad red brick and plain tile roof. Left return fornt has C17 red brick with string course and cornice. Interior: tall square section and undecorated crown posts braced down to tie beams, with close- studded partitions and original doors. Listing NGR: TQ8713758758 (7)
