The following text is from the original listed building designation:
TQ 95 SE THROWLEY THROWLEY FORSTAL (west side) 6/177 Old Barn Cottage GV II
House. C16 and refaced C18. Timber framed and clad with painted brick with plain tiled roof. Two storeys and basement with moulded eaves cornice and hipped roof with stacks to centre right and end right. Five sash windows on first floor, 5 wooden casements and tripartite sash farmer shop window to left, with segmental heads. 1 on ground floor. Blocked doorway to centre right, and half-glazed door to left with flat hood. Interior: exposed frame, standing on flint lined cellars. Originally known as "the Anchorage", a ceiling painting of anchor and supporters survives covered in one room.
