The following text is from the original listed building designation:
EAST STREET 1. 5282 St Saviour's Church TRO 6SW 4/284 II
2. Built in 1885. A prefabricated tin church of elaborate design built as one of 2 mission churches under the auspices of the Parish Church of St Mary of Charity. Cruciform plan 4 bay nave with trefoliated lancets. Transepts of lower elevation. floor has elaborate cresting and finiale. Bellcote with spire and trefoliated arches to west end. Bargeboards to gable ends. South gabled porch with cresting and bargeboard. Included as an unusually elaborate and complete survival of the type.
