Summary

A brewery office built circa 1880 for William Edward Rigden and John Rigden of Rigden's Brewery. It is a two storey red brick building with a hipped slate roof, and two ribbed brick chimney-stacks. There is also a cambered entrance with a recessed doorcase and a rectangular fanlight above. The brewery closed in 1990 and in 1996 part of the site, the Malthouse was converted into a supermarket. The 2008 Swale Borough Council Local Plan envisaged a redevelopment to mixed residential and retail use of the remainder of the site. Work commenced in the summer of 2009, and by 2011 the Brewhouse complex and the Tun House had been converted into apartments. In 2010 the Brewery House was known as Atoll House and in office use.

Office building. c.1880. Red brick in stretcher bond. Hipped slate roof with 2 ribbed brick chimney-stacks. 2 storeys, 5 windows. Sashes without glazing bars. Cambered sashes to ground floor. Cambered entrance with recessed door- case with rectangular fanlight above. 3 steps to street. Footscraper and plinth. Church Street elevation has 2 sashes, 1 tripartite.
