The following text is from the original listed building designation:
FAVERSHAM COURT STREET TR 0161 NE 1/396 Laboratory (formerly Offices) to Fremlins Brewery GV II
Laboratory, formerly offices. c.1880. Brick with slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 windows. Elaborate dentilled cornice. Front elevation to Abbey Street has 4 blank panels above first floor windows. Both storeys have 4 cambered sashes without glazing bars and with horns with drip moulding across entire facade. Plinth. Side elevation similar but with cambered tripartite doorcase. Interior has staircase with 3 plat balusters. Included as part of a complex of buildings at Fremlins Brewery.

The brewery offices were built for William Edward Rigden and John Rigden if Rigden's Brewery. The brewery closed in 1990 and in 1996, part of the brewery, the malthouse (Monument HOB UID 1066154) was converted into a supermarket. In 2008 the Swale Borough Council Local Plan envisaged a redevelopment to residential and retail use of the remainder of the site. Work commenced in the summer of 2009 and by 2011 the brewhouse complex (Monument HOB 1066139) and the Tun House had been converted into apartments. In 2010 the brewery offices were being used by a local charity. (2)
