Full Description
The site of Eversley Manor may be at Monkary Farm (TQ 97865115). This farm has been dated to the 14th century and possibly earlier. It has two magnificent medieval barns, the largest of which may be of 13th century date. Alternatively the site may lie in the region of Manor Field, south-west of the mill mound (TQ 95 SE 4), in which 13th century potsherds have been found. Eversley Manor, according to Hasted (a) was situated 'above the hills within the bounds of Charing parish and partly within Stalisfield', it was 'ancienty of some consequence as being one of the mansions of Bryan de Eversley, a man of much eminence in the reigns of Henry III and Edward I', (For another possible site for Eversley Manor see TQ 95 SE 5).
