Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
RAMSGATE HIGH STREET TR 3865 SW (north-east side) 9/174 No. 97 (Rose of England) GV II Public house. Circa 1795 altered mid C19. Rendered with slate roof. Irregular plan, with 2 main blocks. Three storeys to left, with cill band to 2nd floor and parapet, and 2 storeys to right, with canted re-entrant to centre, and parapet. Central stacks. Two glazing bar sashes to left to 2nd floor, sash to 1st floor, and canted bay to ground floor. Tripartite sash to right on 1st floor. Canted bar front on ground floor, canted over re-entrant angle, with 2 plate glass windows to left, and double to right with moulded frames and central half- glazed door with rectangular fanlight. Heavy cornice on brackets over whole (see Busson, Ramsgate, p.69).
