[Area TQ 928527] At the south end of Warren Street the road diverges, one fork leading to Raynor's Farm. [TQ 92255240], and the other to Waterditch Farm. [TQ 93305235]. In the field in the angle, two deneholes appear as steep-sided circular holes, about 12ft deep and 15 ft in diameter. (1) The pits are situated where a tree is marked on the OS 6" [A number of trees are shown on the 1876 edition.] (2) At TQ 92625276 and TQ 92685266 there are two collapsed deneholes, the latter nearly ploughed out; there are no traces of the shafts. At TQ 92735272 the farmer indicated the site of a third denehole, which has been almost completely filled in. Surveyed at 1:2500. (3) (TQ 92635276, TQ 92685266 and TQ 92725271) Deneholes [NR] (4) There are no traces of these deneholes, either that shown as a siting symbol on the OS 25" 1970 or the two shown as depressions (3). The field is temporarily under pasture. (5)
